BWFreak - Journey to the center of Business Intelligence

About BWFreak

Posted on June 17th, 2007

I decided BW(BI) is what I want to do while I worked as a senior web developer. After went through many projects in 5 years, there’s no technical challenge any more. My decision also has something to do with the fact that everybody thinks he/she is a web designer. We developers are robots to implement their ideas, our input on usability, architecture and innovation are getting ignored.

When dealing with SAP/BW, you still can see black and white with benchmarks. Performance is bad, data is not consistent, processes are not streamlined… You see the problem, you solve it. When there’s no problem, people leave you alone. Life is simpler.

4 reasons for me to create a public website for BW.

  •  I love Business Intelligence.
  •  Learning is always fun. But re-learn is not. I need a place to collect notes from myself and other people.
  •  In case of emergency, I don’t want to depend on company’s network connection.
  •  In the spirit of sharing, I hope my experience help others.

I’ve tried Joomla, but for some reason, I couldn’t make it run fast enough. Adding/editing becomes time consuming. So now, I switch to blog. Come to think about it, blog suits me better. The only thing you might find useful is the t-code lookup. Here’s the link.

As it’s a personal blog, it might not update when I am busy. Meanwhile, I might turn off comments for some posts so that I don’t need to manage the spams.
